P.04 masterfully crafted and modified by John Martz. This example is comprised of an Old Model frame with a New Model receiver and toggle train. The left side of the receiver bears German Navy crown and "(Crown) / M" acceptance proofs, while the chamber area is blank. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Left side of frame bears Martz's "MSTR" stamp, with Martz's signature encircled "JM" stamp present beneath the sideplate. Custom Martz's 7.65x25mm Parabellum barrel measures 8" in length. Frame has been modified, now including Martz Safe Toggle Release system, which simultaneously releases the toggle assembly from the hold-open device and engages the safety bar, simply by moving the safety lever from the fire to safe position when the toggle is locked to the rear. Major metal components are polished in-the-white, while some smaller components including the takedown lever, trigger, magazine release button, safety lever, and ejector are strawed. Frame is mounted with finely figured 2-piece checkered walnut grips. Pistol is accompanied by a 1 spare blued non-matching magazine, as well as a custom John Martz produced stand containing the pistol's primary magazine and loading tool. CONDITION: Excellent, as masterfully finished and modified with metal components exhibiting a lustrous in-the-white polished finish, showing some scattered spots of hardened grease, and areas of original bluing on some components internally. Strawed components are excellent, showing a few minor areas of wear from handling. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips are fine, exhibiting some very light smoothing from handling. Stand exhibits some minor cracking, but is otherwise fine. An exceptional example of John Martz's craftsmanship, modified with his ingenious Safe Toggle Release system. MLW
