US Model 1816 manufactured by Harper's Ferry and dated 1835. 42" round barrel in .69 caliber smoothbore with brass integral front sight on front barrel band and no provision for rear sight. Barrel is marked "M / 58" near breech with VP proof on left side above wood line and "1835" on replacement breech plug near tang. Matching assembly number 3s can be found on lock screws, lock retaining plate, barrel tang screw, trigger guard, buttplate screws, front and rear barrel bands, and ramrod. 1-piece plain walnut stock in typically seen musket configuration complete with "US" marked military buttplate. "A.N. / V" inspector mark on left flat of stock opposite lock with no visible cartouches. Complete with correct style socket bayonet. CONDITION: Very good, with barrel being National Armory Bright with age-related freckling throughout. The lock is in original flint configuration. Replacement breech plug has been polished bright and date has been forced to match lock. Stock is excellent with minor handling marks and no major signs of distress. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is dark. Bayonet fits correctly and is in very good condition as cleaned with freckling throughout.
