German World War II Kriegsmarine dagger with a "Original Eickhorn, Solingen" marked nickel-plated double-etched blade with light scattered marks. Blade tip has been shortened, reground, polished, and 4" of the blade is slightly (3-5 degrees) off the center line. Brass fittings retains more than 70% of their gilt finish, and the brass wire-wrapped trylon grip exhibit light wear and staining. A silver bullion portepee is original to the dagger and has moderate to heavy wear. Brass scabbard retains less than 30% of its gilt finish with patina and scattered marks, with a 1/4" shallow dent and a slightly crushed tip. The correct set of officer hangers are included and both straps have black nylon fronts and black corduroy backers, as well as aluminum fittings which retain 95+% of their gilt finish.
