This attractive pair of Germanic pistols feature 2-stage barrels with scroll engraving at the breeches. Both locks are European percussion conversions. The convex lockplates are engraved with panoplies of arms in the centers and scrolls at the tails. The brass furniture is deeply chased with rococo shells and scrolls. The nose caps are horn. The Circassian walnut stocks are of bird's head form and feature relief carving around barrel tangs and ramrod entry ferrules, as well as cameo carving around trigger guards, locks, and sideplates. Right sides of grips stamped "No 10" and "No 11". Complete with wooden ramrods with brass caps. CONDITION: Barrels and locks retain a grey patina, locks are very crisp and function properly. Mounts retain a pleasing mustard patina. Stocks very good with some minor scattered storage marks, one pistol has a small chip on right side of grip, along pommel cap. A very attractive pair of 18th century pistols. DMG
