Lot consists of 3 pay orders signed by Thomas Seymour relating to members of the rifle companies raised in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia and sent in June 1775 to the siege of Boston. (A) Dated May 17, 1776, authorizing pay for the care of "a sick rifle man on the march to Camp at Cambridge thro this Colony in July last..." (B) 24 August 1775, paying a physician for care for "a sick soldier of Capt. Lowden's company of rifle men." Lowden's company was part of Thompson's Rifle Battalion. Legendary rifleman Timothy Murphy served in the same company. (C) 3 October 1775, authorizing pay to George Olmstead for keeping and nursing Andrew Field, a sick rifle man..." CONDITION: Fine. Minor folds. Clear, legible ink. All docketed on reverse.
