Lot consists of 2 1796 Pattern British Gorgets with classical "GR" with flanking laurels surmounted by a crown. Faces with gilt brass, reverses with folded edges, copper base showing, and marks from the hammer. CONDITION: Very good, faces retain much gilt, bright and shiny, with some losses in recessed edges. Rears are good, with one showing some spotting of copper while other is an even darker coloration. In a matching pair of riker mounts with felt lining. EMW
