Round barrel divided into 3 sections by wedding rings, with an additional ring at breech, with a splay of engraving over breech and a deeply impressed "(Crown) / CP" proof. Slightly convex lock signed "WILSON" in center with beveled edges, faint wrigglework engraving around border, and a floral tendril behind and on cock. Swan neck cock, unbridled pan. Horn tipped ramrod, probably the original, retained by a single ferrule and feeding into a reinforced mouth. Brass trigger guard with acorn finial, a single floral engraved at center, and raised edges. Silver wire inlaid at wrist in a shell motif with geometrics flowing up tang. Brass sideplate with shell motif and wrigglework borders, double lock bolts. Vacant brass vanity plate at wrist with shell motif at top, buttcap with floral designs. CONDITION: Overall good. Lock and barrel are good with flashes of dove grey under a smooth chocolate patina. Stock is good with handling marks and chips around lock mortise, crack running from front of lock to acorn finial and through wrist. Engraving somewhat softened from cleaning. Brass with a golden hue. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with a minimum of oxidation.
