April 12, 1776 transcribed general orders directing the Colonel or commanding officer of militia instructions on making payment to troops and directions to what units to join. Specifically mentions Gen Heath, Col Patterson's Regt, Sterling's Brigade, and that the Regt will be quartered at Fort George until the "arrival of Gen'l Washington". Interesting Continental Army content just prior to the Declaration of Independence. CONDITION: Very fine with 2 small stains. Overall light toning. BRM.
