Handwritten official return for the 165 days of forage for the named Royal Marine officers that "landed with detachment of Royal Marines from His Majesty's Fleet under the command of Vice Admiral the Hnble Sir Alexander Cochrane with the Army the 22nd of August and the 22nd of September 1814 in the expedition against Washington and Baltimore..." This was the campaign that saw Washington burned, and American forces routed at the Battle of Bladensburg. Signed by the commander of the expedition Colonel Sir De Lacy Evans. CONDITION: Document has become separated horizontally and is in 2 pieces. Light corner rubs and slight age toning to fold lines. BRM.
