DSP. Rare & outstanding C. 1920's Gilmore Gasoline Service Station "Stop Your Motor No Smoking" Porcelain Sign showing unique Gilmore script. CONDITION: Side one is overall outstanding showing brilliant condition script with no chipping in the inner or outer fields. Side one shows some very light cloudiness in the cream color of the outer field as well as one very small hole above the "T" of Stop. The outer edge shows only a minimal amount of age wear, Grade 8.9+. Side two also shows chip free script throughout the field but shows some areas of cloudiness and light discoloration in the red lettering. The outer edge shows some light chipping but overall displays nicely, Grade 8.5. Sign retains all four of its original grommets and displays nicely. One of the finer examples of the scarce Sign from Gilmore we have ever sold.
