DSP. Sign is Maker Marked Peerless & Dated 1938. A nice displaying example of this iconic Porcelain Service Station Sign from Shell Gasoline & Motor Oils. CONDITION: Side one shows very good color & gloss with minor chipping in the field as well as some scattered staining in the outer field, most of which should remove if desired. The outer edge shows very minimal wear and overall shows an excellent patina type look, Grade 8.0. Side two shows fair color with large areas of low gloss as well as discoloration. Side two shows heavier chipping in the field with minor outer edge wear, Grade 7.0. Although worn the piece displays well with an excellent original aged appearance.
