Circa 1850s-1870s. Typical unmarked New Orleans style push dagger with a 3 - 1/2" double edged blade and thick shank. Rosewood handle with flat sides, blade secured by spanner nut. 6" overall length. No sheath. CONDITION: Tarnished blade shows sharpening, especially towards the tip which may be somewhat short; handle with oversized recess for nut, scattered dings from use and a small amount of paint splatter. An authentic example of a quite rare and desirable weapon of the bowie knife era. Formerly part of the Tommie Jones collection.
