Circa 1850s. 12 - 1/4" very large double-edged blade marked on both ricassos "GEO. WOSTENHOLM" and "I*XL". Stag handle scales with oversized oval nickel silver guard and oval escutcheon on obverse. 16 - 7/8" overall length. No sheath. CONDITION: Blade with moderate sharpening, well patinated with small areas of light pitting. Guard has been hammered to tighten it. A rare knife in these proportions. Formerly part of the Tommie Jones collection.
