Circa 1850s-1870s. 4 - 1/2" double edged full tang dirk knife marked on both ricassos "I*XL GEORGE WOSTENHOLM'S CELEBRATED CUTLERY". Tortoiseshell scales with nickel silver reinforced guard. 8 - 3/8" overall length. Original morocco leather sheath with nickel silver upper mount. CONDITION: Blade with light sharpening, scattered scratches and light pitting; the handle with several cracks and an area of insect damage. Sheath is very scuffed and is missing frog stud and tip. Formerly part of the Tommie Jones collection.
