According to the factory letter, this gun shipped on January 28, 1916 to Powell and Clement Company in Cincinnati Ohio, in a shipment of 8. Model and caliber markings on the right side of the slide, with 2 lines of company address/patent dates on the left. Rampant Colt pony on the left side of the slide, behind the slide serrations. Standard "VP" proof on the left side of the trigger guard. Half moon front sight, with standard U-notch rear. Original blued finish (stated as blued on the factory letter as well) and checkered hard rubber grips. Magazine is later production blued steel, being not marked. Includes a period leather flap holster. "AF04" is marked on the back of the holster. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish, with splotches of cleaned pitting on the slide and frame. Grips have light wear and handling marks. Bore is frosted, with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has finish wear. Holster is fair, with heavy wear and tears on the front flap. JWA
