Originally available from Smith & Wesson from 1878 to 1912, it is believed all of the frames were produced prior to 1899. This restored example is brilliantly nickel finished with a 6 - 1/2" barrel marked on top flat with 2-line address and patent dates. Pinned half moon front sight and u-notch rear. Chambered in the standard .44 Russian with a 6-shot fluted cylinder. Round butt frame fit with a set of checkered hard rubber "S&W" monogram grips. CONDITION: Good. Virtually all of the bright, professionally reapplied nickel finish is retained throughout. Grips are fine with very good definition and a few light marks on the base. Strong bore with well defined rifling and some light spots of cleaned oxidation. Mechanically fine. Matching serial numbers observed on the frame, cylinder, and barrel latch. BAS
