Type 14 Nambu semi-automatic pistol manufactured at the Kokubunji arsenal in December of 1937. The right side of the frame bears the Nagoya/Kokubunji arsenal symbols followed by the serial number above the Showa date code "12.12", with the left side of the bearing the safety markings followed by the kanji characters denoting the model designation. Major metal components are blued, with some small components strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece serrated wood grips. All numbers are matching, including the magazine as well as the grips, with which the serial number was properly written in pencil on the left panel. Pistol is accompanied by brown leather clamshell holster containing its cleaning rod and spare firing pin. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of mild wear showing through to silvering, some cleaning marks, as well as some light inactive surface oxidation overall. Right side of frame bears a small area that has been touched up. Rear grip strap having turned a mostly gray and dark gray patina, with some spots of inactive oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some mild marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise fine. Holster leather is still malleable, exhibiting usual exterior wear and some crazing on the closure strap. MLW
