Second Series Type 14 Nambu semi-automatic pistol manufactured at the Toriimatsu arsenal under Nagoya supervision in May of 1944. The right side of the frame bears the Nagoya arsenal symbol followed by the series symbol and the serial number above the date code "19.5". Left side of frame bears kanji stampings stipulating the model designation. Major metal components are blued, while some small components including the bolt, firing pin, and locking block, are strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece serrated wood grips. All numbers are matching and include the frame, magazine release button, locking block, trigger guard, trigger, receiver, bolt, firing pin, cocking knob, magazine, and the grips. Pistol is accompanied by 1 box of Midway and 1 box of Metallic Cartridge Specialties 8mm Nambu ammunition. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting some mild areas of edge wear showing through to silvering overall, as well as a few spots of light surface oxidation on the left side of the frame. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show a couple minor marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise fine. A nice matching example of a late war Type 14 Nambu. MLW
