This robust waterfowl gun features a 52" octagon-to-round 8 bore barrel faintly signed "C.C.C. O'Brien Baltimore" on the top flat with some light foliate scroll engraving and a single bead sight. The back action percussion lock is also signed "C.C.C. O'Brien" in script for Charles O'Brien, believed to be active in Baltimore prior to 1842. Checkered walnut half stock with German silver nose cap, German silver barrel escutcheons, iron thimbles, iron trigger guard, and iron butt plate. Includes a brass tipped hard wood cleaning rod. CONDITION: Overall good showing period usage and age. Iron components have developed a pleasing chocolate patina with some spots of cleaned oxidation. Stock remains sturdy, showing some darkening and wear. 1 barrel escutcheon is missing. Mechanically fine. BAS
