This musket features a faceted 10" section that transitions to round. Breech marked on left side with 2 French proofs. Lockplate stamped with a crown over "HB" and a partially visible "ST. ETIENNE". Standard Model 1763 iron furniture. 2 front bands are spring-retained. American stock of tiger maple, retaining its original French form. Relief apron carved around barrel tang. Complete with its original wooden ramrod. This musket was purchased by the consignor from a home in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. CONDITION: Barrel retains a grey patina with scattered pitting, more so towards breech. Lock retains a grey patina and functions well. Lock is in its original flintlock configuration, markings worn. Furniture retains a grey patina with some darker areas. Stock has a pleasing dark honey color. There is a large repaired break on both sides of barrel tang extending towards wrist and a repaired crack extending from front of lockplate. A very attractive American-stocked tiger maple musket. DMG
