1 of only 842 Modelo 1921 (400) semi-automatic pistols chambered in 9x23mm Largo that was manufactured by Astra under contract for the Chilean Navy in 1930. The top of the slide bears standard Astra stampings at the rear with a 5-pointed star above "MARINA DE CHILE" (CHILEAN NAVY) and the Astra logo present towards the muzzle. Left side of frame bears Spanish proofs, with a single proof present on both the slide and barrel. Major metal components are blued, with some smaller components being in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Astra logo checkered brown plastic grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, and barrel. Pistol is accompanied by a Spanish black leather holster containing 1 spare magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory applied blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to pleasant gray and brown patinas, as well as areas of light surface oxidation overall. In-the-white components exhibit age related discoloration. Bore exhibits dark pitting within the grooves and retains good rifling throughout. Grips exhibit smoothing as well as some nicks and marks, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Leather holster exhibits age related cracking and some mild crazing, with the strap exhibiting losses to its exterior finish. MLW
