For another example, see 41.MM on pg. 91 of "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. The barrel has a long faceted section extending from the breech and transitioning into round. Flat Model 1754 lockplate with molding at tail. Standard Model 1754 iron furniture, sideplate has an "MA" cartouche. Buttplate tang has been shortened at time of period restock. Professionally stocked in cherry, complete with period American iron ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a dark patina, some pitting at breech. Lock is in its original flintlock configuration and functions well, top jaw a period American replacement. Lock retains a brown patina. Iron furniture retains a mostly brown patina. Stock shows much original crazed finish in flutes on both sides of buttstock. Some scattered marks from use and a chip absent in front of lockplate. A very nice and scarcely found example of this Revolutionary War and French and Indian War-used model. DMG
