Manufactured after production transitioned to Worcester, Massachusetts in 1847. Medium size pepperbox with fluted blued percussion .32 caliber 6 barrel cluster marked "ALLEN & THURBER WORCESTER". Double action only with "ALLENS PATENT / 1845" bar hammer. Frame and nipple shield are foliate scroll engraved, with the backstrap line engraved. Revolver sports a 2-piece bag shaped smooth walnut grip. Revolver is attractively housed in a fitted wood case with a single cavity bullet mold, "C & J.W. / HAWKSLEY" marked flask, cleaning rod, and an Eley cap tin. CONDITION: Fine. The factory applied blue on the barrels has drifted to a rich plum with some silvering at the muzzles. Frame displays a pleasing dove gray patina with traces of original finish, the nipple shield retaining significantly more finish. Grips fine with some scattered impressions. Mechanically fine with bright, lightly frosted bores. Case and accessories are very good. BAS
