.54 caliber frontier used M1841 rifle exhibiting heavy wear. Left side of stock has 17 small brass studs that make up an unknown symbol resembling a partial lighting bolt. Rear brass barrel band shows evidence of serrated filing on the inward edge. Heavy pommel wear to the stock just forward of the rear sight worn completely through the ramrod channel. Markings are worn but legible: "E.WHITNEY US" on lock plate "N. HAVEN 1844" rear of hammer. CONDITION: Relic condition with dark bore and 1" cut off the muzzle. Front barrel band and ramrod missing. Numerous small fissures and crack to wood, mostly on forestock. BRM.
