Dated 1845 on lock with 42" round barrel in .69 caliber smoothbore with blade front sight on front double strapped barrel band. Barrel is dated 1845 near breech with typically seen VP eagle proof mark. 1 piece plain walnut stock with iron mountings and US marked buttplate. Stock bears faint remnants of a cartouche on left stock flat opposite lock and is marked with "10" near wrist and "40" near buttplate, these are thought to be rack numbers. CONDITION: Very good, with iron assemblies turned a homogenous brown patina with areas of polishing to better see barrel markings such as date and VP proof. Stock is very good with filled in knot on left side of stock, proof marks faint, and large chip near tang. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright and smooth.
