1890 vintage in standard military configuration. Blued 32 - 5/8" barrel chambered in .45-70 with "V / P / (Eagle Head) / P" proofs over the chamber. Blade front sight and "R" marked Buffington rear. Case hardened low arch breech block marked "U.S. / MODEL / 1884". Stocked in walnut with boxed "SWP / 1889" cartouche and encircled "P" firing proof. Standard blued steel mounts. CONDITION: Fine. Significant amounts of arsenal blue and muted case colors are retained with areas turned to a soft gray patina. Stock has some expected wear and impressions, retaining its original surface. Very fine bright bore displaying razor sharp rifling. Crisp mechanics. BAS
