Kentucky plains style halfstock percussion rifle built in Kalamazoo, Michigan by James Allen circa 1870. 31 - 1/4" octagonal .38 caliber rifled barrel with blade front sight, notched dovetail rear sight. Maker name "J. ALLEN, KALAMAZOO, MICH" stamped on barrel flat. Golcher marked percussion lock with single trigger control. Plain walnut stock with brass furniture and steel patchbox. CONDITION: Overall fair and has been lightly cleaned. Pitted bore with good mechanics. DLM
