Manufactured in 1890 in standard configuration. Fit with a 32 - 5/8" round barrel chambered in .45-70 with correct proofs over the chamber, blade front sight, and "R" marked Buffington rear sight. Low arch breech block marked "US / MODEL / 1884". Stocked in American walnut with boxed script "SWP / 1890" cartouche, encircled "P" firing proof, stamped "G" and "5" rack/unit markings, and additional carved "5 / G" and "B." over skull-and-crossbones markings. Complete with an aftermarket military style leather sling. CONDITION: Very good. Arsenal finishes have largely drifted to a plum brown patina throughout. Trigger guard retains significantly more original finish. Stock has been partially cleaned with scattered impressions. Cartouche appears enhanced. Bore displays razor sharp rifling with a few light spots of cleaned oxidation. Mechanically fine. BAS
