Standard configuration K98k manufactured at the Mauser arsenal in 1943. The receiver is stamped with a partially discernible "(Eagle) / 135" waffenamt above "byf / 43" over the chamber, with an eagle firing proof on the left and a single "(Eagle) / 135" waffenamt on the right. Right side of buttstock bears an "(Eagle) / WaA135" waffenamt. Barrel bands, trigger guard, and floorplate are milled. Metal components are blued, while the stock and upper handguard are comprised of solid walnut. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, rear sight assembly (minus the elevation slide), front and rear barrel bands, trigger guard, floorplate, as well as the stock and upper handguard (which are serialized internally). Bolt assembly does not match, but matches itself. Rifle is fitted with with a proper period unmarked brown leather sling,"ofh" marked winter trigger, as well as a "K&S" marked flip-up muzzle cover. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their period applied blue finish, exhibiting thinning and wear overall that show through to a pleasant brown patina, as well as some scattered spots of light pitting. Excellent bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock shows some scattered marks and impressions from storage and handling, with a few scattered gouges overall. Sling exhibits smoothing to the crosshatch pattern, as well as age related cracking and some mild crazing overall. A nice and honest Mauser 1943 production K98k.
