Lot consists of (A) Mid-production Type 26 manufactured at the Koishikawa arsenal. Right side of receiver bears the Koishikawa insignia over Kanji characters denoting the model designation and the serial number. Metal components are blued, while the frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. No matching numbers. Revolver is accompanied by a reproduction brown leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting wear through to gray patina starting at the barrel, as well as some areas of surface oxidation. Excellent bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good overall. Reproduction holster is excellent. (B) Mid-production Type 25 manufactured at the Koishikawa arsenal. Right side of frame bears the Koishikawa insignia over Kanji characters denoting the model designation and the serial number. Metal components have been chromed, while the frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Left grip panel matches frame. Revolver is accompanied by a contemporary brown leather holster. CONDITION: Excellent, as refinished, with metal components retaining virtually all of their chrome finish, exhibiting some areas of pitting beneath the finish. Mirror bore, exhibiting some pitting and retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and wear but are otherwise fine. Reproduction holster is excellent.
