Lot consists of (A) Type 94 Nambu manufactured at the Chuo Kogyo arsenal under Nagoya supervision in 1939. Right side of frame bears the Showa date "14.2" indicating manufacture in February of 1939 above the Chuo Kogyo and Nagoya arsenal insignias. Major metal components are blued, while some smaller components are strawed or in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. All serialized components are matching, with the exception of the magazine. Pistol is accompanied by a brown leather pigskin holster containing 1 spare non-matching magazine. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear, a few areas of mild pitting, and some spots of light surface oxidation. Strawed components are very good. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some smoothing and scattered marks but are otherwise fine. Holster is malleable and is very good overall. (B) Model 1907 manufactured by Savage Arms Company in 1919. Top of slide bears stampings stipulating the manufacturer, caliber, and patent information, with the front of the frame bearing the serial number. Major metal components are blued, while some small components are case colored or in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black plastic Savage logo grips. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear and some very light surface oxidation overall. Trigger retains traces of its original case colored finish. Very good bore, exhibiting some light oxidation and retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips are very good, exhibiting some smoothing and nicks to the diamonds. From the Personal Collection of Esteemed Firearms Researcher and Collector Edwin F. Libby.
