Lot consists of (A) M.95 carbine manufactured by Steyr and accepted into Austrian military service in 1917. Receiver is stamped "STEYR/ M.95" over the chamber with an Austrian military acceptance proof present over the barrel shank. Major metal components are blued, while the bolt is in-the-white. 1-piece stock and upper handguard are comprised of solid wood. Receiver, barrel, and stock are matching. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting some mild surface oxidation, areas of wear and thinning showing through to brown patina, as well as what appears to be hardened grease or lacquer. Front barrel band shows wear through to gray and moderate oxidation. Bright bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock bears a repair at the toe and some average marks from handling and storage. (B) Dutch Model 1895 carbine manufactured at the Hembrug arsenal in 1911. Left side of receiver is stamped "HEMBRUG 1911", with small Dutch arsenal proofs present overall. Right side of buttstock bears an encircled Hembrug crown over "W" cartouche with a 1939 date. Receiver, bolt assembly, and buttplate are in-the-white, while remaining components are blued. 1-piece stock is comprised of solid wood. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, barrel, and bayonet band. Bolt assembly does not match but matches itself. CONDITION: Receiver and bolt have been cleaned, exhibiting spots of age-related discoloration overall. Blued components show some areas of wear and thinning through to brown patina, with some spots of mild oxidation. Bore is dark and retains strong rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered minor nicks and impressions but is otherwise fine. From the Personal Collection of Esteemed Firearms Researcher and Collector Edwin F. Libby.
