Lot consists of (A) M91/38 bolt action carbine manufactured at the Terni arsenal in 1939. Barrel shank bears stampings stipulating the date of manufacture, manufacturer, and the serial number with a "(Crown) / RE" Army acceptance stamp and boxed Finnish "SA" property stamp also present. Left side of buttstock bears a faint Terni 1939 dated cartouche. Major metal components are blued; the bolt, trigger, and bayonet lug are in-the-white. Stock and upper handguard are comprised of solid wood. Receiver and stock are matching. Carbine is mounted with a German K98 pattern brown leather sling. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting areas of thinning and wear showing through to brown and gray patinas. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock is very good, exhibiting usual marks and impressions from storage and handling. (B) Model 1894 Hebel flare pistol. Left side of frame bears the serial number above an Austrian acceptance proof (indicating military acceptance in 1917), as well as an "AZF/ EAXI" stamp. Major metal components are blued; the frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame and barrel. Action requires attention, as hammer is not under tension when cocked. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning showing through to brown patina, as well as mild surface oxidation overall. Bore exhibits areas of pitting, but is otherwise good. Grips show some scattered handling marks and impressions. From the Personal Collection of Esteemed Firearms Researcher and Collector Edwin F.
