Fine English game gun made by Leonard Mills of 27 - 1/2 Whittall Street Birmingham, England circa 1921 to 1926. 27 - 3/4" blued Nitro Proof steel 16 gauge chopper lump barrels with maker marked smooth concave rib, bead front sight, extractors, tight Modified and Improved chokes, and 2 - 9/16" chambers. Line engraved case hardened boxlock action with "LEON MILLS" in banner on action sides with double triggers, automatic safety, and blued action floorplate. Checkered walnut English grip stock with German silver vanity shield and leather covered recoil pad with matching checkered walnut splinter forearm with push button release. CONDITION: 90% fading original blue with some light edge wear. Action worn to a silvery patina with floorplate still showing most of original blue. Trigger guard worn to a silvery patina. Wood has worn oil finish with some usage scratches and dings with checkering starting to wear flat. Excellent bores and mechanics. Fantastic little field gun!
