German Reichswehr post-World War I cavalry sword with a "WKC" marked nickel plated steel blade, with scattered light marks, several tiny nicks, and freckling on the upper 1" of the blade near the cross guard. 1/4" of blade tip is approximately 10 degrees off center. Triple etched blade has blued panels, with moderate wear, on each side of the blade depicting the unit "Reiter - Regiment Nr. 18" (founded after WWI in 1920), mounted cavalry charging, various other patterns, as well as laurel leaves on the spine. Triple strand wire wrapped black trylon grip has light wear with dust. Nickel plated steel fittings are dull and have moderate to heavy freckling with finish bubbling. Steel scabbard retains some of its original black painted finish with heavy freckling, and scattered marks. Scabbard throat and screws are missing. Swords from the Reichswehr era (Weimar Republic) are very difficult to find. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
