Named after its designer, Count of Campo-Giro, the Campo-Giro Model 1913-16 is the last development of the Campo-Giro pistol before being succeeded in Spanish military service by the Astra Model 1921/Model 400 pistol. Manufactured by Esperanza y Unceta, this example bears stampings stipulating the model designation and serial number on the left side of the frame, with a small Spanish military acceptance proof present on the left tang. Top of the slide stamped with the designer, patent information above a wreathed star, and the manufacturer information at the rear. Major metal components are blued, with the hammer and safety lever exhibiting a purplish strawed finish. Barrel and some internal components are in-the-white. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger, slide, barrel, crossbar, bolt, as well as the ejector. Magazine is mismatched. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the majority of what appears to be their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting mild surface oxidation and some scattered areas of pitting. Bore is bright, exhibiting areas of pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise fine.
