Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent information and intercepting pony. Attractive 2-tone temper line at front of slide. Barrel with "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side of chamber. Top of frame has "G" and "2" near disconnector. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, checkered slide release, checkered safety with thick tab, long 1911A1 grip safety. Short checkered trigger. Arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Fibre grips with thick rings of a later vintage. Left side of trigger guard with VP proof, P proof, Broberg proof under slide release, and P proof near magazine release. Right side with appropriate "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marking, serial number, and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY". Unmarked magazine. CONDITION: Very good as refinished, retaining the vast majority of the later parkerization. Distinct 2-tone slide tempering line. Markings are somewhat softened, with crossed cannons cartouche no longer visible. Some small (2-3mm) patches of pitting visible scattered throughout, underneath the parkerization. Mechanically fine, bore is good with strong rifling, minor frosting, and a few patches of pitting commensurate with exterior. A well-presenting example.
