Model 1892 double action revolver manufactured by St. Etienne for commercial sales. The top strap of the frame is stamped "Manufacture Francaise d Armes/ & Cycles de Saint Etienne", with the barrel and cylinder both bearing St. Etienne commercial proofs. Underside of pommel cap is marked "4455". Matching serial number "27450" is present on the interior of the frame, interior of the hinged frame sideplate, interior of the grips, front face of the cylinder, as well as the underside of the barrel. Major metal components exhibit a blued finish, while some smaller components are strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting a few areas of wear and scattered areas of pitting mild surface oxidation. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered areas of pitting and retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage. MLW
