Standard grade rifle with 28" blued octagon barrel with full magazine, German silver Rocky Mountain front sight, and Marlin semi-buckhorn rear sight. Receiver has the 1st style "step" on bottom front of frame with solid carrier. Top flat of barrel has 2nd type roll marking of "J.M. MARLIN" with arrows at each end. Mounted with nicely figured, slab-sawed uncheckered American walnut with straight stock and smooth steel semi-crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Overall good with barrel and magazine tube retaining about 65% original thin blue finish turning to a silver/gray patina. Receiver retains 30 to 40% traces of dull blue with balance fading to a silver/gray patina. Lever and hammer retain fading case colors. Wood is sound with usual nicks, dings and bruises with light coat of linseed oil. Good bore with shiny lands and dark grooves with good mechanics.
