18th century hand forged iron cannon on large cherrywood block mount that measures 24" x 12". Cannon is integrally cast with 2 reinforcing bands, barrel itself is 19" overall, with a 1 - 1/2" bore and a 3/8" diameter touch hole. Secured to the plinth by a thick iron trunnion band measuring 8 - 1/2" long x 1 - 3/4" wide. CONDITION: Very solid with wood only exhibiting scattered worm holes that does not affect the integrity. Tube is dark overall with light pitting with no recent oxidation noted. BRM.
