Lot consists of: (A) 21" Brown Bess bayonet with British crown over "5" proof on base of 17" blade. Collar exhibits a 1" stress crack. (B) 17 - 1/2" early 1800s socket bayonet with initials "LH" at base of 13" blade. (C) 16 - 3/4" British pattern 1768 Brown Bess bayonet marked "HADLEY" under crown and "24" cypher. Thomas Hadley was a Birmingham weapons maker for the Crown. (D) Unusual repurposed bayonet, most likely American, for use on a pole arm. Collar has been shortened and an iron nail added to allow for attaching to a wood shaft. 15 - 1/2" overall length. (E) 14" American Rev. War era bayonet in original leather scabbard on belt. Belt exhibits a 1 - 1/2" forged iron buckle that has been tinned. (F) 13" Early 18th Century plug bayonet. Turned wood handle, most likely Spanish or Italian. (G) 11" 1820-1840s handmade belt knife with hardwood handle. CONDITION: Fair to good overall with the leather belt and scabbard being fragile but all there. Some blades show evidence of earlier cleaning but now turning back to brown. BRM.
