Possibly made for militia or guard use by Baltimore gunsmith David T. Hapgood, who worked around and after 1840. Barrel is stamped at rear "D.T. HAPGOOD / BALTIMORE" with Golcher marked flint plate converted to percussion. Walnut stock with brass musket style hardware and steel ramrod. CONDITION: Overall fair with metal showing some light pitting and turning a brown patina. Wood has traces of original finish with heavy usage dings and marks. Toe is cracked. Bore is dark and pitted with good mechanics. DLM
