AGS CERTIFIED #10278. DST. Seldon seen C. 1930's Service Station Flange Sign for Shell showing "Motor Oil" on each side with die-cut Shell shape. CONDITION: Side one shows very good color & gloss throughout showing moderate areas of paint scratch as well as bubble markings in the field. Side one shows paper markings in the inner & outer field as well as some areas of paint loss along the outer edge but still retains an excellent patina type look to it, (Score 78). Side two shows fair color throughout with moderate surface scratch as well as small areas of paint loss. The field of side two shows some paper markings as well and the outer edges shows moderate wear and paint loss, (Score 75). The flange portion is in very good condition as well showing only minor paint loss with minimal mounting hole wear. Although the piece shows wear it displays excellent with an outstanding patina type look to it.
