AGS CERTIFIED #10090. DSP. An outstanding displaying example of this rare and iconic die-cut porcelain radiator sign from Packard Automobiles advertising "Service" and featuring a unique radiator shape mounted on its original iron hanging bracket. CONDITION: Side one is overall excellent, boasting outstanding color and gloss throughout the field. Only a couple of minimal surface scratches can be observed in the inner field, along with two very light chips near the top edge. The outer edge of side one is in outstanding condition, showing only minimal nicks. The radiator cap is also in excellent condition and overall side one displays incredibly well, (Score 91). Side two displays excellent color and gloss throughout the field. However, there are some minor areas of light cloudiness in the blue, as well as three minor areas of light BB-type chips in the word “Service.” Side two also exhibits light spider webbing at the lower right edge and minimal brown stains just below the radiator cap. Side two shows light chips present along the outer edge but overall, it displays outstandingly, (Score 85). The sign is mounted in its original iron hanger, which showcases its original clips and years of repaint throughout. The hangers have been cut from the top side, but there are drill holes made at the top of the hangers for easy display. Overall an excellent example of this outstanding and iconic piece of advertising from Packard.
