A very nice World War I grouping named to Leo J. Kempf, who was a member of the 605th Engineers during WWI. The grouping consists of Kempf's uniform, which includes his British made jacket with 8th Corps patch, overseas chevron, discharge chevron, and engineer collar discs, pants, overseas hat, and British helmet. Miscellaneous items include his gasmask, red cross bag, and wool wrap. There are a few photos which depict nice military related scenes, framed copy of his service record, and a framed roster of the 605th Engineers in which Kempf is named in the second row. There are also 2 framed unit photos, one is labeled "605th Engineers". All of his items are contained in his suitcase that is named to Kempf on a Knights of Columbus label. There is also a box of miscellaneous insignia which was contained in the suitcase. CONDITION: The uniform displays nicely but the pants and hat are heavily mothed. Other gear is in nice condition with nice patina to the helmet. Framed roster is missing glass, frames on unit photos are flimsy. Suitcase is falling apart and gives off an odor. This is a very nice "time capsule" grouping contained in the original suit case.
Item Dimensions: 25" x 25"
