A very nice example of a Japanese WWII good luck flag that is extensively signed with kanji. The flag is constructed of silk and measures approximately 32" x 25". Leather reinforcements on 2 corners. The kanji was reviewed and comes with a list of phrases which were translated from Japanese to English. Some of the phrases include "Fighting Spirit", "Exterminate American and British who have evil mind and also who do not have human being sensitivity", "Dedicate your labor until you get exhausted", "Congratulate your being conscripted maintain your strong Japanese spirit", and more. The translations also mention the names of the people who signed the flag. CONDITION: The colors exhibit fading and the white background resembles a grayish color. Kanji remains legible and also exhibits fading. Scattered staining throughout. Leather corner tabs are worn. A very nice and displayable Japanese flag.
