Tapered round barrel with a flattened sighting plane that measures 2 - 3/4" from breech. View and proof marks at breech, with sprays of florals engraved. Horn tipped ramrod, probably the original, is broken just below the reinforced mouth. Silver ferrule nad reinforced mouth with raised edges and lihgt engraving at spearpoint finial. Banana slightly convex lock with a waterproof lock with integral fence, bridled pan cover, signed "LONDON" in ribbon in center, with wriggled work boarders and restrained florals. Swan neck cock engrave en suite. Intricate sideplate for 2 retaining bolts with edelweiss, shell motifs, pineapple motif, and spray of florals. Trigger guard with a simple floral engraved with a pineapple finial. Wrist is inlaid with silver wire in shell motifs, thumbpiece with shell motif. Buttcap in the form of a grotesque. Interestingly, this piece is not hallmarks despite the mounts being silver. CONDITION: Barrel and lock are bright metal throughout with some scattered areas of oil discoloration and mossing. Legends are crisp throughout. Silver has some tarnish in the protected areas, easily cleaned by the new owner should they wish. Stock is excellent with some minor handling marks and impressions, including one expertly repaired break on left side of grip. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent. A well presenting English pistol. Formerly part of the Allan Klein Collection.
