5 shot barrel cluster with appropriate proofing over each chamber, with flaring at rear to meet nipple shield. Dolphin form hammer engraved with linework and rays. Boxlock action signed "SOUTHALL / LONDON" on left side, with floral scroll and stiff leaf engraving. Sliding safety on tang. Trigger guard with floral scroll. Bag grip with wraparound checkering, silver escutcheon plate with "HB", and a cap trap made of German silver with floral scroll and circular stiff leaf engraving. Housed in a wooden case with a brass escutcheon in lid, with royal purple colored lining, containing accessories comprising a combination bullet mold, sprue cutter, and nipple wrench marked "WD" and "No 96", a Dixon and Sons flask, and some lead balls. CONDITION: Barrels with most all of their period reapplied blue finish, with some starting silvering at muzzle, discoloration in flutes, and brown patination peeking through. Boxlock commensurate. Nipple shield with some peppering. Hammer bright with some minor discoloration. Grips excellent with some minor abrasion to heads. Mechanically fine, bores are very good. Case is very good with some handling marks by no major cracks or chips, lining has faded to a brownish color, with better color retained in protected areas. Sprue cutter with flashes of case color on legs, bag flash with some areas of handling marks and scrapes, a spall splotch of oxidation on spring. Formerly part of the Allan Klein collection.
