Manufactured 1945. Serrated slope front sight, slightly recontoured, square notch flat top rear sight with "P" proof in front oriented to be read muzzle up. Left side with "ITHACA GUN CO., INC. / ITHACA. N.Y.". Barrel with "F" on right lug, "P" on left. Frame with "FJA" proof on left side under slide release, "P" proof under magazine release, Ithaca forge marking on left side of trigger guard web, right side of web with "4". Right side of dust cover with "M1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" roll mark, US property mark, serial number, and crossed cannon cartouche. Small parts comprise serrated slide release, serrated thick tab safety, long 1911A1 grip safety, checkered magazine release, checkered short stamped trigger, narrow serrated hammer, arched serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Grips are Keyes with thin reinforcing rings. In an Auto-Ordnance plastic case with extra barrel marked "F" on right lug and "P" on left. Magazine with "COLT / 45 AUTO" on baseplate. CONDITION: Overall good as refinished with a thick layer of parkerization that has heavily softened legends. Some handling marks throughout that have silvered through, including at reciprocating areas. Grips are very good with some handling marks and scrapes, but free of cracks. Mechanically fine, bore with heavily softened rifling and frosting in grooves, most towards chamber. Spare barrel with heavily softened rifling and light potting, electropencilled "X3J4RI" on left side of barrel, oriented to be read lugs up.
