An early post-WWI German Reichsmarine Naval dirk with an unmarked nickel plated blade with light scattered marks and very light freckling throughout. Black trylon triple strand brass wire wrapped grip exhibits only light wear, with 1 strand of wire being broken in the middle. Brass cross guard and fireball pommel retain 55-60%% of their gilded finish with patina. An Imperial German portepee is attached. Steel scabbard retains 70-75% of its original black painted finish with scattered marks and freckling. Brass upper fittings retain 50-55% of their gilded finish with patina. German naval daggers from this era (early Weimar Republic) are very rare. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
